"Doored"

"Getting hit by a car or doored is a fairly common experience for city cyclists and pedestrians. More than 17,000 cyclists and pedestrians seek medical care after being struck each year; and this number is just the tip of the iceberg, as many incidents are not reported. Unfortunately, even in serious crashes, many victims fail to get the motorist’s name and other critical information, either because they are so relieved to be alive or so befogged they simply want to be left alone."

funny ha-ha for your morning

And on a sadder note, there is no justice left in the world. Compassion is dead. Life is a wasteland.

Yes, it's true. I am out of coffee.....

*weeps*

Eat a bag somehow fits with this.

"Now, I don’t know what I am doing with Photoshop…so a lot of cutouts look so bad….but “bad” is what was so charming about postcards from the thirties and forties. How funny is that…I am free to make “bad” pictures….because ‘bad’….is ‘good.’ If the Photoshop cutouts are too good…the pictures won’t be bad enough…so it won’t be any good. My stock agency won’t accept any of these pictures because they are so bad….I said…but that’s the idea and the charm “Bad is Good”… I was at an art show with the holy cow and someone said “wow…that’s so great because… it is so bad”.

Neat color trick

Cool example of how your eyes can trick you when you are messing with color everyday. You know, like if you were a retoucher or some shit like that.

Spring cleaning

Well, I guess I should call it summer cleaning but who gives a fuck. Just added some more photo essays to the side and trimmed down a serious case of link rot. The links on the right were a graveyard of abandoned blogs and dead links, a shrine dedicated to my neglect of this old blog if you will. But now it is a tidy haven for all things great on the interwebby. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

Posted some pics from a recent work trip to Chicago on Pixel Rust if anyone is interested. On the "South Side" image I messed around with some HDRI settings. Interesting result but I don't know how it would hold up in print as it seems to make the image very noisy. I need to mess with the settings more and see if I can figure them out better. I may milk the Chicago shots instead of just blowing them all on a photo essay for once. That way I have something to post there for a few weeks while I try to surface from under this crushing work load I have ATM.

Posting again?

As part of my ever changing plans, I plan to update this here thing more often. No really, I mean it this time. I am actually gonna make it part of a daily routine. Crazy huh? Me with a routine? Ahh, the joys insetting simple goals.

So i was going through a old journal from 96 and I found this gem, which I think may be a Edward Abbey quote. But I searched and did not see it. So I'll claim it till I learn otherwise. I can do that right? LOL...

"Love to youth is nothing more then 10 more pages of bad poetry."

That is all I have on a page.
